Plea of a Child: Please, Stop!

“The laws of this world are for the children”

In the words of the playwright Frank Wedekind, “The laws of this world are for the children” holds great truth but the number of deaths of children speaks of the hypocrisy of our generation, where laws are not for the safety of children but purely driven by politician agendas.

Each year chaos and unrest increases, it’s heartbreaking to hear the desperate cries of children pleading for help and safety. Their heart-wrenching plea for protection serves as a wake-up call to the leaders of the world who hold the power to stop their suffering. The aim to shed light on the importance of get the attention of the leaders of the world to focus on protection of children as they the most vulnerable in the midst of conflicts and wars.

When did Smiles turn to Cries for Help?

May this poem narrate the pain and lowliness a child feels when exposed to a harsh world with nobody to comfort them, young minds that don’t have the answers to make it stop, no voices to ask for help. Just wounded, helpless awaiting for someone to comfort them and make the pain and chaos go away.

Poem – “Plea of a Child”

Into this world we brought each one of you,
filling your minds with hope and dreams.
We promised to protect and care for you,
the gift from God, every birth and with every mother’s labor screams.
Singing lullabies, that cunning foxes in sheep’s skin would never dare,
for we are here and each one does care.

Family, neighbors, society and world,
caretakers, protectors whose lies will unfold.
Agendas and greed have defeated good intentions,
ego and callous inaction are amongst our countless sins.
Wars and mass graveyards we have given you rather than promised gardens where you can play,
hunger, disability and death we bring than love, warmth, peace which used to be our daily prayer.

Oh little ones we permit abuse, violence, rape and the ugliness of child pornography,
allowing perverts to run rampant in homes, schools, societies and across all geography.
What a shameful generation we are,
ashamed each one of us stand,
our arguments and inaction has made this world a rotten land,
shame, shame to each one of us for who we we have become this far.

Loud mouths, trouble makers, silent observers in the same garbage drum,
gloating before the wounded children, screaming victory like a song without rhythm, chaos a broken guitar we strum.
Forgive us little children we are lost,
your suffering is at our cost.
We have instrumented this mayhem, chaos and destruction,
then we weep, for killing our own children.

First you, then Mother Nature,
all for ego, power, greed, hate and useless stature.
Hurt people, we hurt our own,
disappointment one day our children us will disown.
What we showed them they too will do,
what goes round, comes around and that holds true.

Little children, standing in the midst of destruction with tears streaming down their innocent faces. They have lost everything that once provided them with a sense of security – their parents, their home, and their support system. Left with no one to turn to, the only thing they can do is cry.

To the leaders of the world, we implore you to listen to the cries of these abandoned children. The responsibility of safeguarding the lives and welfare of your people lies in your hands. It is time to prioritize the well-being of the most vulnerable in our society, especially those who have been robbed of a normal childhood.

Children, the embodiment of innocence and hope, should not be subjected to the horrors that our world can perpetuate. They yearn for protection and care, and it is our duty to provide it. Let us not forget that the future of our societies rests in their hands. By ensuring their safety and well-being, we can help sculpt a brighter tomorrow.

Leaders, we urge you to translate these words of desperation into actions that will bring tangible change. Stop injustices done to children and the horrors of war. Invest in education, healthcare, and social welfare programs that cater to the specific needs of children who have lost their parents and homes. Prioritize their rehabilitation and provide them with the nurturing environment they crave.

Furthermore, work collaboratively across borders to establish humanitarian efforts to initiate dialogue to political and ideological differences. Together, we can provide a united front against the atrocities that leave countless children with shattered lives.

As the world grows more complex and divisive, the importance of protecting and nurturing children is at its epicenter. The plea of children, echo across nations, serves as a powerful reminder of apathy towards their suffering. It is time for action, not just empty words.

Together we can create a world where no child is left unheard, abandoned, or alone. Governments must provide the necessary support, care, and protection to help them rise above their circumstances. Let’s rebuild shattered lives, ban wars, eradicate child trafficking and other forms of forced violations and abuse innocent children are subjected to, through accountability and enforcing laws that punish the perpetrators and negligent governing bodies.

We can instill hope, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to flourish and grow. The choice is ours: to either heed the desperate plea of children or continue to turn a deaf ear to their suffering.
